Counselling can help you explore and work through emotional difficulties you may be experiencing that may be affecting your behaviour and mind. These difficulties may be from your past that are now causing problems or from a new trauma you have experienced in your life such as a relationship break-up, loss of someone close to you or that life is just getting on top of you. You may find being assertive is uncomfortable, you may have a low self worth, lack of confidence, or suffer with anxiety or depression. Counselling aims to support you make sense of your struggles, within a confidential, safe and non-judgemental environment.
The initial meeting is to discuss issues you feel are causing you difficulty in your life at present and explore what you hope to achieve from counselling. At this point you decide whether counselling is for you and also if we can work together. Long and short term counselling contracts are offered depending on your needs and your emotional issues. I am a trained and experienced counsellor, group facilitator and supervisor with an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
